Hi there, Don’t be surprised. Some of my contacts in Linkedin, feel that operator domination will continue for at least two more years and there is no respite from either share squeeze or huge delays in operator payments turnarounds. Industry is here to suffer. Innovation will come from elephants if there is any? Hopefully…like one I heard in a party Cisco’s content finds you and IBMs content delivery platform. This only makes me hope that the guys who turned entrepreneurs risking their careers will only play a fiddle in the whole value chain. Lets begin talking.

January 20, 2008Hi friends, Once my boss (Amit Nandi now with Bajaj, then with Bharti) told me, if only SMS is used by all the subscribers, perhaps you would double the revenues. In retrospect, he was right. My mind then seemed to have got stuck on literacy rate/rural-metro divide/limitations of mobile phones and rest of the typical complications. But heres an opportunity – Lets get all handset manufacturers, promote – language SMS. Let this by the mandate of many a VAS managers across operators who are near DOT and TRAI for the rest of the world feel at ease and not squeeze the VAS vendors on revenue share thereby stifling innovations. Lets begin the talk !
